Teens Want Clothes for Back to School- Infographic

Get your credit cards ready because it’s Back to School shopping season!   You can find some of the best deals we’ll see all year, even as good as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Who doesn't love the penny notebooks found at Staples or the discounted electronics at the big box store.  Since you can get a "deal" on just about anything,  the question turn to what our teens really “want” the most? FatWallet’s Back to School Survey reveals what teens want more, from laptops to tablets to smartphones to clothes.

The national survey was conducted online by TNS on behalf of FatWallet.com in July 2013 found that

• 38% of teens want clothes to start school
• teens would choose the iPhone 5, almost 2 to 1, over Samsung Galaxy S4.
• 97% of teens use a computer at home and 74% use computers at school.
• 80% of teens surveyed said they have their own cell phone already, including more than 90% of females ages 15-17.

So in this day and age, technology rules, not only with teens but with adults. So get shopping for your teens, yourself, and Christmas (if you are that ambitious). Enjoy the sales!

   There was a time where our little ones’ fear of the dark would impact the nightly bedtime routine. The lights had to be kept on, bedroom doors opened, and an army of stuffed animals lined the bed for protection. Instead of going to sleep it would turn into playtime. When they finally fell asleep and I would tiptoe into their rooms to turn off the lights, except for the times that we would fall asleep first.

       As a busy professional I am always taking work home with me. Occasionally I forget my flash drive either at home or at the office, even though I have a dozen flash drives. I am not one to wear it dangling from my neck on a lanyard and my suites do not always have pockets. Without a flash drive I am not as efficient at my job. Luckily I was introduced to a product called the MoH Band that could solve that problem for me.

       A MoH Band (Memory On Hand) is a portable USB flash drive that you wear on your wrist, just like a bracelet or a watch.        Here are some facts and stats about New Year's traditions supplied by the History Channel. I am surprised to read that only 44% of American adults plan to share a midnight kiss. What do they do instead?
       This year I will be celebrating at a big New Year's Eve Party. They will be showing the Times Square Ball Drop and I'm sure that I will be drinking champagne. This will be the first year that I will not be making a New Year's resolution. I end up breaking them after a few weeks anyway.

My Review

Downloading and printing these Printable Christmas Games are quick and easy. I used my office photocopier to print extra copies of the trivia games at work.  Once the trivia games were distributed, it became very competitive in the office.  A Christmas Story Trivia, Funny Christmas Song Mad Libs, Office Christmas Party Mad Libs, and Christmas Cracker Hard Trivia were some of the favorite games. My Review

Spooky Halloween Statistics (infographic)

       As a child I remember warnings from my parents about poisoned Halloween candy and razor blades found in apples. My friends would sit at the lunch table and discuss a "stories" that they "heard", from their parents, about a friend of the family whose child died either from eating the poisoned candy or swallowing the razor blade that was hidden in the apple. All because they ate the candy before their parents thoroughly looked it over. One friend would always say "I don't know of one child who would eat an apple when they are holding a bag of candy." 

        Sometimes the full candy review would took days. Of course my parents picked out their favorite candy and threw away half of the rest. But as a child I was just happy to be allowed to eat candy. A few friends wouldn't even get to eat any candy. Their parents would take their trick or treat bag to work, either at a hospital or doctor's office, to get the candy x rayed for pins and razor blades.   

       While checking your child's Halloween is still a good idea, there are more scary things to worry about. Lead-based face paint, obesity, and diabetes are the real "dangers" this Halloween.
