Ergonomic Pen Review - The UGLee Pen

The UGLee Pen
The UGLee Pen shown in red

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a progressively painful hand and arm condition caused by a pinched nerve in your wrist. Some of the factors that contribute to CTS include repetitive movement of the hands/wrists, injury to the hand/wrist, and diseases such as diabetes, thyroid disease, or rheumatoid arthritis. Carpel tunnel syndrome is also commonly experienced during pregnancy due to fluid retention. CTS affects 5% of the population, including myself.
I encounter great challenges when it comes to simple tasks such as writing, so I jumped at the chance to review an ergonomic writing instrument called the UGLee Pen. The UGLee Pen a revolutionary ergonomic pen that is designed, created and used by a real physician ,Dr. Lee. This Doctor-inspired grip pen is redefining the way people view pens and writing.
The UGLee Pen is good for everyone who writes and is especially helpful to people who experience pain and discomfort when writing, for example those with arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.,. It's also the best writing utensil for children who are learning to write and are developing fine motor skills, as well as helpful for special-needs children who find holding a pen or pencil properly difficult. And for high-school and college students who have to take copious notes, this pen helps keep hands and fingers from cramping.
Dr. Lee studied the structure of the human hand using X-ray and researched the attachment and function of hand muscles to design the perfect grip. After many years the UGLee Pen was created.
The UGLee Pen is made of high quality nylon making it lightweight, sturdy, and weighs only 11 grams. My favorite feature is the full sized ergonomic grip which encases about 2/3 of the pen. It has a soft and squishy feel, the color is dark grey with glitter added for a little pizzazz. The grip is designed for the structure of your hand, allowing your fingers to grip comfortably and adjust when necessary. The UGLee Pen's ink that is a mixture between ball-point ink and gel ink, producing smooth and smudge free handwriting. Ink refills come in 3 colors (black, blue, and red) and sold in packs of 10 for $15.
UGLee Pens are sold in packs of three, all in the barrel color of your choice: white, grey, pink, red, blue, green ,and yellow. I was sent a pack of the white pens with blue ink. UGLee Pens come standard with a super-smooth, bold, black ink. To order your own UGlee Pens please visit the UGLee website. A 3 pack of UGLee Pens is only $19.99.
Frequently my carpal tunnel syndrome has caused my handwriting to become very sloppy and illegible. I shy away from writing anything including grocery lists and thank you cards. Christmas cards are created with printed messages, signatures and address labels by a photo center. In my opinion, the UGLee Pen made it easier and more comfortable for me to write. I noticed that I didn't have to grip the pen with as much force as I do with other writing instruments. Also my hand, fingers, arm, and shoulder felt more relaxed. I used the UGLee Pen over the past few weeks and the while filling out a multi page document. I found that the UGLee Pen made it easier to write, my handwriting was more decipherable, and I experienced less CTS pain and symptoms. I sill paced myself and spread out the writing task over a period of a few days, as I would using any other writing instrument.
The UGLee Pen may not be the most attractive writing tool available but it's comfort makes up for that. I noticed that the grip can sometimes "pick up" lint when in contact with items such as a rug or sweater. Just rinse your UGLee Pen off with a little water and dry with a paper towel.  I highly recommend the UGLee Pen. I feel that it would beneficial for students, professionals, seniors, and anyone with arthritis or CTS type symptoms

  6. I learned that this pen was designed by a doctor, that the Uglee Pen is a great choice for children learning how to write, and the overall shape as well as the detailed contours are perfectly engineered to follow the anatomy of the hand. Instead of you gripping the pen it grips you. This would be perfect for me as I love to write, and often my hands cramp so I have to stop which makes writing letters to my family difficult.
